Lesson overview:
In this beginner-friendly ESL lesson, students learn how to ask and answer basic WH-questions using who, what, where, when, why, and how. Designed for A1-A2 learners, the lesson builds confidence through clear models, controlled practice, and personal questions.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask simple questions about people, places, routines, and preferences in everyday conversations.
Lead-in:
Show the four photos and ask students: Who are they? What do you know about them? What are they doing? Let students share quick ideas in pairs, then take brief feedback. This naturally sets up WH-questions and prepares students for the “Autocomplete Interview” theme.
