Lesson overview:
This bird idioms worksheet teaches 12 bird idioms in English that adults really use: an early bird, a night owl, a bird's-eye view, a wild goose chase, as the crow flies, kill two birds with one stone, a little bird told me, birds of a feather flock together, don't count your chickens before they hatch, ruffle someone's feathers, take someone under your wing and get your ducks in a row. Students read a bird club newsletter and put the events in order, then complete the meaning of each idiom. They fill in a new manager's diary, decide if each situation is good or bad, solve a crossword of the bird words and pick out the word partners that go with each idiom, like go on a wild goose chase and a real night owl.
Add it to a class plan and keep track of what you've taught.
