Lesson overview:

This winter idioms worksheet teaches 10 idioms built on snow, ice and cold that adults use all year at work: break the ice, get cold feet, give someone the cold shoulder, the tip of the iceberg, on thin ice, snowed under, snowball, put something on ice, leave someone out in the cold and a snow job. Students read a short story about Jade's first month at a new job and find the idiom for each meaning. They complete each idiom with ice, cold or snow, then sort them by what the cold means: unfriendly, nervous, danger, too much, or stopped. They choose the right idiom in context, decide if two sentences mean the same, and complete short conversations from first-letter hints.
