Lesson overview:
In this B1–B2 Business English lesson plan, students explore the onboarding process through real-life scenarios, HR vocabulary, and role-plays. They’ll practice workplace English by discussing effective onboarding strategies, analyzing onboarding checklists, and simulating HR–new hire conversations.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- use key HR vocabulary in context,
- discuss challenges and solutions for new employees,
- role-play professional onboarding dialogues.
Lead-in:
Start by showing a short TikTok video of a standard onboarding situation. Ask students: What happened in the video? What was missing in their onboarding? This helps activate prior knowledge and sets the stage for deeper exploration.
