Lesson overview:

This A1-A2 lesson helps students describe hobbies they want to take up, things they find easy or difficult, and experiences they have tried before.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

  • talk about activities they would like to take up and explain why;
  • use common phrases to describe their abilities and experiences;
  • interview a partner and write a short profile about them.

Lead-in:

Start with the “One Month, One New Skill” visual. Students match twelve activities, including photography, gardening, coding, public speaking, and cooking, to the pictures. Then have them compare what they can already do, what they would like to try, and which activities seem easiest or most difficult.
