Lesson overview:
Who doesn’t love a good picnic? This lesson gets students talking about real-life places while mastering there is / there are. They’ll work through fun discussions, hands-on grammar activities, and a practical reading task, all designed to help them confidently describe scenes, objects, and locations. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to paint vivid pictures with words—whether it’s about their ideal picnic, their dream home, or their favorite café.
Lead-in:
Start with a simple but engaging question: Do you like picnics? Students chat about their experiences, favorite picnic foods, and must-have items. Then, they analyze an image of a spring picnic, identifying and labeling everything they see. This quick warm-up activates their vocabulary and gets them thinking in English right away.
