Lesson overview:
In this lesson, students learn practical workplace phrasal verbs through the familiar structure of a corporate workday: logging in, meetings, deep work, breaks, and wrapping up. They practise phrases like block out, get through, touch base on, look into, and sign off in realistic office situations.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- describe a typical workday using natural phrasal verbs;
- choose appropriate workplace replies in different scenarios;
- create a short “day in the life” script about their job or dream job.
Lead-in:
Start by asking students how they usually work and what their typical day looks like. Then, students watch a short “day in my life” video and compare it with their own routine. This opens the topic naturally before they move on to ordering the stages of a corporate workday.
