Lesson overview:
Regular verbs look easy until students write studyed, stoped and I didn't worked. This past simple regular verbs worksheet starts with a rule card for the four spelling patterns: work and worked, live and lived, study and studied, stop and stopped. Students write the past form of ten verbs and sort eight more into four groups. They complete sentences, make negatives with didn't and questions with did, and fill the gaps in a short story about a very wet Monday. Then they correct five real learner mistakes. The sheet ends with That's Not What Happened: a partner retells your Saturday with three changed verbs, and you correct each one aloud.
Add it to a class plan and keep track of what you've taught.
