Lesson overview:
In this lesson, students discuss gaming habits, screen time, and whether video games can be good for mental health. Designed mostly for teenagers at A2-B1 level, the lesson uses a short video, YouTube-style comments, and relatable speaking tasks about games, friends, school, and free time.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- share opinions about gaming,
- give balanced advice,
- use -ing forms as sentence subjects.
Lead-in:
Students start by rating themselves on a gamer scale from 1 to 5 and discussing what kinds of games are popular among their friends. Then, they read short quotes from different perspectives — a gamer, a parent, and a researcher — and decide which opinion they agree with most.
