Lesson overview:
This Halloween vocabulary worksheet teaches 14 words for adult A2-B1 classes: pumpkin, carve, jack-o'-lantern, costume, dress up, mask, trick-or-treat, candy, haunted house, ghost, witch, skeleton, cobweb and spooky. Students find the odd word out in six groups and explain why. They solve eight What am I? riddles, like I'm only bones. Then they complete a real party invitation: the flat is spooky, the best costume wins a prize, and the candy is for the trick-or-treaters. They cross out the verb that doesn't fit, as in wear a pumpkin. The sheet ends with speaking: students rank six Halloween activities and explain their first and last choice.
