Lesson overview:
In this B1-B2 lesson, students learn to describe people’s facial features and hairstyles with nuance and accuracy. They’ll work with real-world vocabulary such as “asymmetrical bob,” “cleft chin,” and “rosy cheeks,” and practice using it in natural, descriptive contexts. Through collaborative reading, matching tasks, and group scenarios, students gain confidence in painting clear, memorable portraits of others.

Lead-in:
Start by asking: “How would you describe someone to a friend at a party?” Have students pair up and try describing people they see in the room—or in photos—without using names. This sparks curiosity and activates useful descriptive language.
