Lesson overview:

In this A2-B1 lesson, students explore everyday habits – both good and bad – and how to talk about changing them. Through stories, discussions, and grammar practice, they’ll learn to describe past routines and new behaviors using used tobe used to, and get used to.

By the end, students will be able to:

  • Describe habits they had in the past.
  • Talk about adjusting to new routines.
  • Share personal stories about breaking bad habits.

Lead-in:

Start by asking students to rank a list of everyday habits, from “not so bad” to “the worst.” Habits include biting nails, checking phones too often, gossiping, or slouching. This sparks curiosity, activates prior knowledge, and sets the stage for exploring how habits affect our lives.
