Lesson overview:

At B1, many students describe every bad day as sad and every good one as happy. This words to describe emotions worksheet teaches 12 more precise words: overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, content, relieved, disappointed, embarrassed, jealous, grateful, ashamed, furious and devastated. Students match each word to a meaning and use it in everyday sentences. Then they put words in order from mild to strong, like annoyed, frustrated and furious, and choose the right feeling for real situations.

By the end of the worksheet, students will be able to:

  • use 12 precise emotion words, from overwhelmed to devastated
  • order emotion words from mild to strong
  • choose the right emotion for a real situation
  • explain the difference between pairs like ashamed and embarrassed
