Lesson overview:
This jobs and occupations vocabulary worksheet teaches 13 jobs adult beginners talk about: nurse, teacher, cook, waiter, cleaner, driver, farmer, engineer, pilot, hairdresser, receptionist, mechanic and accountant. A rule card shows how many jobs come from a verb or a noun, like teach and teacher, and warns that a cooker is a machine, not a person. Students make jobs from verbs, find eight jobs in a word search, and read about the people in one busy building. They answer true or false, write questions like What does Marco do?, and choose between a and an. Then they read six short descriptions, like This person flies planes, and write the job from a word box. Every task works for self-study.
