Lesson overview:
The verb to be is the first grammar most adults learn, and the mistakes stay for years: I are a nurse, she no is at home, Yes, I are. This verb to be worksheet starts with a rule card for am, is and are, the negatives I'm not, aren't and isn't, and questions with the verb first. Students choose the correct form, complete sentences, make negatives, and match questions like Are they at home? to short answers. They put words in order to make questions, complete a conversation at a party, and correct five common mistakes. The sheet ends with eight short profiles, like Marta, 40, a nurse, from Lisbon, and questions to answer in short form: Is Ben from Dublin? No, he isn't.
